Understanding TELUS Friendly Future Foundation
In a digital-first world, technology is more than a tool—it’s a bridge to opportunity. For youth-focused charities, access to the right funding can mean the difference between maintaining services and transforming lives.
That’s where the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® comes in. With grants designed to help charities digitize and automate their programs, this foundation is opening new doors for Canadian non-profits. If your organization is ready to grow your impact through technology, here’s how to apply—and why it matters.
What is the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation?
The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation is a registered charity that offers community grants to support health and education programs for youth across Canada. Through their Community Board Grants, non-profits can receive up to $20,000 in funding to enhance, expand, or digitize their initiatives.
The foundation’s focus is on projects that serve youth up to age 29—especially those in underserved communities, including Indigenous, Black, and racialized groups. Grants are available for programs that:
- Improve youth mental health
- Enhance digital literacy and access to technology
- Address food security and nutrition
- Support virtual learning and education equity
- Introduce innovative digital tools to expand service delivery
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
To qualify for a TELUS Community Board Grant, organizations must meet these key requirements:
- Be a registered Canadian charity or qualified donee
- Operate programs within Canada
- Serve youth aged 0–29
- Focus on health or education outcomes
- Be applying for a program that uses innovative technology, such as digitization or automation
- Apply to only one Community Board per year
Programs that rely on general office tools like Excel or Zoom will not qualify as tech innovation. The TELUS Foundation is seeking forward-thinking approaches that truly modernize service delivery.
Why Digitizing Non-Profit Programs Makes a Difference
Technology allows non-profits to reach further, respond faster, and scale impact sustainably. The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation recognizes this and funds organizations using digital tools to:
- Automate admin tasks and free up resources
- Create online learning environments
- Offer mobile or virtual support to rural communities
- Build accessible platforms for underserved populations
- Use data and analytics to improve outcomes
If your organization is building tech-forward solutions to better serve young people, this grant could be the boost you need.
