In times of personal crisis or struggle, knowing there’s a community ready to support you makes all the difference. For Jewish individuals and families in Canada, the Community Support Network (CSN) offers that much-needed support, guided by compassion, dignity, and a deep understanding of cultural values.
But CSN isn’t just about crisis support — it’s also about connection, growth, and ensuring the next generation of Jewish leaders feels empowered and at home. That’s where the Chabad Student Network (CSN) comes in.
CSN: Support and Connection for Every Stage of Life
CSN provides vital programs that strengthen the Jewish community, offering both compassionate support in times of need and meaningful opportunities for young Jewish adults to explore their heritage.
The Chabad Student Network (CSN) is an organization dedicated to providing university students with a strong connection to Judaism. Located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, CSN services the needs of Jewish students at Ottawa University, Carleton University, and Algonquin College.
The Chabad house, located at 254 Friel Street in Sandy Hill, is open to students at all times of the day. Whether you want to join a class, attend a program, or simply have a chat with the Rabbi, the doors are always open.
The mission of the Chabad Student Network is to reach out to every Jewish young adult and offer them a way to connect to their Jewish roots within a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment.
Their programs and services are designed to challenge the mind, warm the heart, and touch the soul of every student who walks through their doors. CSN is more than an organization — it’s a vital resource where young adults can explore their identity, ask meaningful questions, and add depth to their lives.
Programs include:
Holiday celebrations
Weekly Shabbat dinners
Community service programs
Guest lectures
Jewish studies classes
One-on-one discussions and mentoring
CSN operates under the broader umbrella of Jewish Family and Child Service, a well-respected organization committed to supporting Jewish individuals and families across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. Their work reflects the core Jewish value of Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh Bazeh—the belief that all members of the community are responsible for one another.
From students discovering their Jewish identity to individuals and families seeking support during life’s challenges, CSN provides a caring, confidential space to grow, connect, and find strength.
If you or someone you know could benefit from CSN’s services, or if you’re a student looking to engage more deeply with the Jewish community, there’s always a place for you.
Together, we can ensure that no one in our community feels forgotten, disconnected, or alone.
